Humanity begs a bit more
soul
"Even
when all around us everything asks for a bit more calm,
even when the body begs for a bit more soul life will not
pause…" This bit of the lyrics in "Patience",
a song sung by Lenine, in a joint composition with Edu Falcão,
reflects the nervous world we live in today where "competence"
echoes "competitiveness", both serving the "Lord
Market"…And where is the human being "when
time asks for more haste…and madness pretends all
of this is normal"? The First World Spiritual Forum
aims at calling all to reflect about all this. Wouldn't
it be that the body of humanity, so to speak, is asking
for a bit more soul?
In
less than a month, on December 6th, this event will bring
together hundreds of people who, for four consecutive days,
will think about ways of living with more spirituality,
with more respect, tolerance and patience among people in
general, groups, religions, governments and the governed,
philosophies and nations.
The
event organizers, the NGO United Planet (UP), the United
Religions Initiative (URI) and the International University
for Peace (UNIPAZ) count with the support of more than 50
institutions and organizations that already work towards
a culture of peace. They have in common the motto "Valuing
Diversity towards the Construction of Planetary Solidarity".
You
can sign up at www.forumespiritualmundial.org.br.
Teachers, students and senior citizens will contribute R$20,00
and the other R$50,00 toward the expenses. These amounts
are really symbolic, just enough to cover costs with reading
material participants will receive at the door. The FORUM
complete program can be found at the above mentioned site.
You
are very important towards the success of this event! Your
contribution on how we can build this new world, more fraternal
and solidary is fundamental! We hope we can count on you!!
